Botanical Painting Classes

Doreen Hamilton is running another series of the very popular Botanical Painting clasees.
They are held on the third Saturday of every Month ecept for April when it will be on 23rd April.
Start 12.30 am and finish at 3.30pm Tea, Coffee and biscuits provided.

Booking not required - but please let Doreen know by e-mail the previous week and then just turn up

Materials can be supplied at cost if you just want to give it a try and not have to buy expensive materials at the start.

Spring Plant Sale and Open Day

Saturday 27th May  2017

Plant sale: 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Guided walks and activities 12.30 to 4.00 p.m.


This event is part of the North Wales Festival of Gardens

As well as our usual plant sale in the morning we will be running guided walks and other activities in the afternoon, as part of the North Wales Festival of Gardens week. For the plant sale we will have: indoor plants, perennials, trees, shrubs, bulbs, ferns, vegetable and salad seedlings. Contributions welcome as soon as possible. We prefer labelled plants.  We can print plant labels – please let us know the details (flower colour, cultural requirements, height etc.) and numbers as soon as possible. Fresh local produce (including a cake stall) will be on sale and we will be serving refreshments, including tea, coffee and cakes throughout the day. There will also be Wizard’s Leaves food stall.


Guided walks will take place in the afternoon. Look out for more details nearer the time.

Bird and Bluebell walk with Nigel Brown

Sunday 23rd April 2017 - 9.30 a.m. to about 12.30 p.m.

NOTE - Change of date !

The Dingle, Llangefni, Anglesey.
Please bring binoculars and warm clothing. Distance 4km in total along excellent path, not strenuous.   We will be identifying early spring flowers and bird song on this walk, which takes us through a lush, wooded river valley, and then more open riverside meadows until we reach the Cefni Reservoir, where we'll look for wildfowl. Return along the same path.

Forest School for Grown-ups

Saturday 1st April 2017 - 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m

Wild Elements, who run forest school sessions for children, are going to give us a chance to find out what they get up to! Camp fire cooking and woodland activities (and good ideas for entertaining your children and grandchildren in the holidays).

‘IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE SNOW LEOPARD’

 JOHN MITCHELL

A talk on the alpine plants and landscapes of Central Asia including Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgystan.   John Mitchell has worked at the the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh (R.B.G.E.) for the last 33 years, and has travelled extensively to China, Tibet and Central Asia.  He has also led many expeditions with the A.G.S. and the R.B.G.E.   He lectures around the world, and is the Chairman of the Meconopsis Group and the Joint Rock Committee (S.R.G.C./R.H.S).
